Still using the 350D

With the EF-S 24, this has become my new party camera.  Just hand it around to others while the party's going on and see what comes up at the end.

Most frequent question:  'How do you zoom?'

Who cares if they're blurry or noisy.  It's a party!  Relax!

Canon EOS 350D (EOS Digital Rebel XT / EOS Kiss Digital N)

Maybe it is just me but I find the noise from the older Canon cameras to be somewhat pleasing compared to the newer models.  There is something with the grain size and patterns that I like.

Your 350D is much more well behaved with noise than my Kiss Digital N. Are these JPEG OOC?

perhaps because its quite similar to film grain? I've been using it to my advantage for a while now to get the vintage look.

I did some PP with Lightroom 5.7 - the pleasant graininess might come from there.  But you're right - I remember back in 2005, when I first started lurking on this forum, everybody was pining for the picture quality of the 300D!

I shoot RAW and use Lightroom 5.7 - the JPGs come from there.  The 350D is still amazing under good lighting conditions.  Strange how most of my favorite shots seem to have been taken with it, and not with the 6D I got a few years back.  Maybe having fewer bells and whistles made me think a bit more while shooting, and also forced me to push the limits.
