I bought the white version fully aware of it's potential propensity to discolour, yet I'm extremely satisfied with it's performance, no regrets. I mean, ISO 6400 is better than ISO 400 in my 350D. The Asian version of the 200D does not have any software bundled with it, you will have to download it from the interwebs.

i can totally relate to that...:)

So i got this cover from easyCover. Works rather nicely, and certainly prevents the bottom from picking up surface dirt.

Why did you get a white camera and black cover ? I know there's a concern over dirt issue so surely a black body would have been a better choice ?The cover looks weird to me and it looks as if moisture might get in between the cover and body causing problems that may go unoticed.

Agreed.  It also looks like it might add just a bit of extra weight and make it more ackward?  I mean changing cards, tripods.. Maybe with the white body, there is just a risk that one might just be willing to take.  My guess is that if it was a ristk of getting stained or dirty, Canon would have figured that out.  Hope I'm wrong. I really want a white one.  Just to be different.  I'll do some more research before buying one.(black or white)  But, I think the white one looks cool.

Yeah white looks cool but there's also another color option which is a kind of tan and grey which looks pretty neat and retro looking.

Re: Just upgraded from 350D to 200D

The only other colours were camo (nope) and red (NOPE). It works fine with my tripod, and it's just a flimsy silicon cover which adds no noticeable extra weight (the Sigma 17-50 is far heavier). One reason for getting it is because the wife's 60D has a similar one and it's worked well thus far, but mostly, I just wanted to go for a storm trooper look.
