How to say about this camera? Ok i did a bit of research before i really get in touch the real thing. And it's exactly perform as other people mentioned: sssssslllllooowww.

Anyway, since i already noted the speed of it, after a few test shot (it's second hand but the previous owner just bought it for a few days with under 20 shutter count) i just took my wallet out and buy it. then i started to play with it at home. It was night time and i didnt expect it was so crap at iso 800. I must say i was deeply depressed and havent had a good sleep that night. (maybe it was the reason the owner sells it)

On the next day i took it out with a fully charged battery, it was a sunny warm day and i started shooting with my SD Quattro. The EVF works fine. LCD is better than expected. under sunlight, focusing speed is acceptable (similar with my old Nikon F-801) at iso 100 it was well detailed, awesome! (with 18-50 F2.8 macro), bokeh is smooth from clear to blur.

After a whole day's shooting i find it's definitely not a good camera since it hasn't got most functions other cameras offered. No movie, No scenic mode, lucky the P mode has 3 custom setting so you can set your own scenic mode based on your experience. the dials in good position so good for adjusting A & S in M mode. It's truly for someone who already certain knowledge on photography, and willing to wait for focusing and saving...

To me I may pick a wrong camera as I'm not skillful enough to override to 100% manual. But I'm happy because I finally got something i missed a long long time, the joy of photography - spot something good to shoot, check the environment and start to calculate what setting can generate the best outcome, concentrate on focusing and press the shutter.  Thanks to a large capacity SD card I can take a few more shots but i enjoyed re-calculating

Actually, it's reasonably fast... In terms of taking one picture and then taking another one, moments later.

I'm happy with mine.

And I think you are beginning to see that what it does it does very well. It just doesn't do everything, or claim to.

It focuses reasonably quickly.

Thanks guys.

It's an open forum here and we look at things from different perspective.  So it's fine with different feedback.

I guess many people would like to hear what other people say about one thing before buying it.  Daz y dpreview exist!

Once i bought this sdq i play with it everynight,  trying different functions.  Like a kid got a new toy XD. I never did this to other cameras i owned but i expect a lot from sdq so i hope i can utilize it or do the best i can if not utilizing the camera.  Still just 3 weeks i got it on hand.  Hopefully i can post some pic with it soon.

Please do Randy. I look forward to seeing some of your test shots . . . both from SPP and straight out of your camera too. It would be interesting to see the affect of the various in-camera sharpening settings. Did you update the firmware to the newest version, which includes DNG file saving mode and SFD image mode?

It's WAY faster than shooting and scanning medium format film. Ha, ha, ha. My SD Quattro arrives in a few days.

Don't be afraid to use a tripod. Stick to the low ISO ranges 100-200, maybe 400 if there is enough light.

Don't force the camera to be what it isn't. In other words, don't buy a sedan and then complain that you can't fit a small chair in the trunk--that's what SUVs are for.
