Hi everyone! New Fuji X-e3 owner here. I fired up the camera, and it was functioning fine. Then I turned it on later and no focus point was visible in the EVF or the rear LCD. Have since restarted the camera several times, and still no focus point is visible. What did I do? How do I get it back? It's virtually useless as of now. Yes, if I push the joystick in, the focus screen and focus point appears. But only if I do this. When I first started using it, I would turn on the camera and the focus "box" would appear and I would move it around on the screen with the joystick. Help please! Thank you in advance for your advice!

I don't have an X-E3 but it sounds like you may have accidentally pressed the display button (if the X-E3 has one) that changes what's seen in the viewfinder and on the LCD.

I may be 100% wrong but look for a button that says, Disp and press it a couple of times.

Check your autofocus mode. It may be set to wide/tracking.

Thanks. That's a thoughtful suggestion. Unfortunately it's on Single Point AF. :(

How about Set-up>Screen Set-up>Dis Custom Setting>Focus Frame

It's happened to me several times. Very frustrating! Try checking the focus mode switch on the front of the camera. It may have moved from single to continuous focus. Worked for me!

Let us know what happens?

Good luck

Phil

Ha! That was it! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! That'll teach me to fiddle around with menu setting without knowing what each of them does! I am so happy and relieved!

Thank you! :)

You're welcome. As the camera is still new to me as well, it was good for me to look it up [though i sort of knew where to look]

And six years later this thread has stopped me from throwing my new camera in the bin in frustration! Thank you!:-)
