Re: How do I get photos off G9X Mark II to a Mac?
I'd assume that your camera uses SD card.
The easiest and simplest way to download photos to iMac:
- Open Photos program by clicking on Photos icon located in the dock at the bottom of your screen (it looks like a a small rosette in rainbow colours)
- Extract SD card from your camera and insert it into a SD slot located on the back of your computer
- Photos from the camera will be displayed on the screen.
- in the upper right corner you will be given an option to import new photos to your computer. Click on it.
- All photos will be downloaded from the SD card to your computer and placed exactly where you want them to be, which is in Photos program.
- Close Photos program (or slide it downwards so you can see your main screen called desktop)
- on the desktop screen find a symbol that looks like a SD card. It may have a Name, or named No Name.
- Right click on it. A menu window will open up.
- Click on the second option from the top, called "Eject ......"
- Pull out SD card from the slot.
- open again Photos program. You will see all downloaded photos in reduced size.
- Double click on any of the photos. A large one will fill up the screen.
- Now you are ready to do with it whatever you wish. I usually go to EDIT (in the upper right corner of the screen and process it.)
Now, you will like to insert your SD card back into the camera, then find FORMAT menu in the camera and format SD card to delete all the photos that you do not need any more. Caveat: if you think that the card contains very valuable photos, like let say your family wedding, than keep the card untouched until you are satisfied with the safety of downloaded photos on your computer. But this is another chapter to learn for you.
