Nice to see , and thanks for putting it up .

The image from the Minolta looks quite a bit cleaner , noise wise .

Also that Minolta Vectis 50mm Macro would give it a much sharper image .

I have a few of the RD-3000 and given their limitaions (M.P and 1990's sensor Dynamic range) it does a good job .

I have the Monster adapter to use the Minolta Vectis lenses on my Sony E-mount bodies , and even at 24 megapixel it gives fantastic , sharp results with good , colour , contrast and bokeh .

I hear mixed things about the Nikon 35-70mm , and have avoided buying one to use with my Nikon film gear for that reason .

But then youl'd be hard pushed to beat any macro lens with a zoom lens !

Unfortunately, I do not have a macro lens with equivalent focal length in Nikon mount

Looks like the RD3000 is the winner here. Nice to see a comparison between 2 digital cameras of the first generation!

I'd love to see some more real-life samples to compare though.

I happen to own a complete set of the RD3000. For today's standards it's really slow to use and it's effective aperture range that you can use goes from f/6.7-- f/22.

Nevertheless: it is still capable of producing good pictures!

Cheers, René!

So now that you've shown that the Minolta is somewhat better when you put a better lens on it than the Kodak is when you fit it with a mediocre 20 year old zoom lens, what does this comparison prove, exactly?  Perhaps, Just for yucks, you should also have compared these pictures to what you can get nowadays out of the camera in your average $100 smart phone, or any current $80 point and shoot.

Those prices! I'm glad I was an unemployed college student back then. Thanks for sharing the photos - they don't look bad at all!
