Review after almost 3 years of usage:

Having used the camera for 3 years, I thought I'd give it a review.

Focusing speed is very fast (with the right lenses) although compared to newer cameras it might be a bit inaccurate especially in low light.

There is also 11fps mode which I use often, although the buffer fills up very quickly despite using a U3 card (the camera only writes up to U1 speed)

Image quality still holds up well (again with the right lenses)

Viewfinder, although of a pretty low resolution, is very useful in bright conditions when screen brightness does not hold up against the sun. It is also useful when reviewing images and provide live preview of settings.

Noise control is excellent and JPEGs with Normal NR is usable up to ISO3200

The applications are great and I use the Multi-Exposure feature, as well as Smooth Reflection.

Build quality: After two years of usage, the Mode dial has some sensitivity issues when in Aperture mode. The mode would keep switching in and out with just a light touch of the dial. This is a minor issue and might have been caused by moisture seepage. Also caused by moisture is the rusting of some parts of the hot shoe (luckily for me I don't use any external flashes or mics). Wonder why they didn't include a hot shoe cover which costs less than a dollar...

Video quality: average and lacks internal stabilisation. There is also no headphone jack to monitor audio. No 4K either but not a big issue for a stills photographer.

Overall, a very good buy even today (although in Singapore, at least, the price has not changed at all for 3 years...) But that being said, it's still of excellent value as almost no competitors can match its focusing speed and image quality for the price!

Thanks and appreciate your review and I agree.

Two weeks I purchased an A600 as a backup for my A6300 and I love it.

I purchased the body only from B&H used 9+ w/box (it is like brand new) for $342. I ran an application on my first image to see the shutter accusation count (to my surprise only 97 shutter actuations, yep like new).

Re: Excellent Buy

Nice find, that's even less shutter count than some "brand new" ones. It will definitely serve as a great backup camera.

Here are some of my test shots with my A6000 (used HVL-F20M for flash fill). This will be a great small package for family fun (and can be used for serious photography also).

Yesterday I mounted my A6000 behind my LA+EA4 and A-Mount 70-400mm G (mounted from the lens collar on a rail and gimbal). I did some inside the house focus test and found it to be quick and accurate. My plan was to go outside and grab some BIF shots but it was raining like cats and dogs all day as well as really cold. I will test this combo at the earliest opportunity.

Yes, agree with OP, Excellent Buy and Excellent Camera still today.

Yes the a6000 is good for both family and work. I also tried the LA-EA4 with the A-mount 55-200mm on the a6000 and I found it much more usable than the SEL55210 in terms of focusing in concert hall conditions. Was shooting a school dance event and here are some that I got with it (Didn't post any closeups as I am not supposed to):

Outstanding work with a small package.  Nice high ISO examples.  I like the colors against the dark background.  Yes, works and focuses very well with LA-EA4.

Thanks for sharing (this gives me more ideas).
