Back LCD screen shuts off during live view?

Im sure this is a simple fix. Whenever I use Live View to do a 10x digital zoom/focus of an object, the back screen keeps shutting off after one second, and I have to hold down the shutter half way to get the screen to come back up in view to continue my focusing. I cant figure out how to get the back screen to stay on the entire time I am focusing until I push the shutter.

This is with a Canon T5, by the way.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks,

Re: Back LCD screen shuts off during live view?

Do you have a lens that's "fly by wire?"

Is there an autofocus on/off switch?

Check the various menu settings for items like "metering timer" and "sleep" mode etc (if the camera has them).

Try different modes to see if it behaves the same way.

Try a different battery or lens.

Try a "hard reset" if possible.

Best of luck,
