Hotel in Venice
Blown highlights, blown sky (that tiny triangle), people chopped in half = it's a snapshot
Remedy - shoot it lower, or preferably without people in it (just wait for them to pass) or wait until some interesting people come into shot, stand further back to get more sky, exposure compensation -1
If the sign is the most interesting thing, just take a picture of that, because as it is it's a picture of the sign that hasn't been cropped

A hotel in the streets of Venice
Hotels have people going in and out. They're a welcoming place. I would have liked to see what this sign is welcoming people into and the people who are coming and going from it. IE, the door and maybe a bell hop. All else about exposure could be fixed easily or even forgiven. But the image would benefit most from inclusion of elements that are begging to be included.
