Lightroom 6 will be the last Lightroom to be perpetual

Lr 6.13 will be out in a week. LR7 and Classic CC are subscription based.  Been using Lr since 2007. What alternatives are there?

Never buy version 1.0 of anything.

Very disappointing

I am very disappointed, I must say. LR6 is therefore the last Lightroom for me. CC is just not for me.

Looks like it will be Lightroom 6.13 for me. Not interested in CC.

I will also be looking for a replacement for Lightroom.

I stopped using LR a couple of years ago. It was just a matter of time before they switched over.

I don't process much so i normally use the Manufacturers software.

But give http://rawtherapee.com/ a go.

I have this as backup if i need more powerful editing options.

It may be worth checking out AfterShot Pro 3.

What's bizarre is that the new Lightroom Classic CC is missing features and Lighroom 6.xx already stripped down from Lightroom 2015 CC has more features than Lr Classic CC.

I'm not a LR, nor PhotShop user. I use ON1's product as a stand alone and PSE 15 when pano + exposure merging, and text is needed.  You can try their released product for free; an upgrade is scheduled to be released end of Oct.

Adobe subscription only makes sense if you're a designer and use a suite of their products.

You'll likely not even notice.

You most likely can continue to use  LR6 for years or at least until you have spent thousands on new gear that is not supported.

Good luck with that problem.

I am really getting tired of all this.

So we now have:

Lightroom CC + 1TB Cloud - $10/month

Lightroom CC + LIghtroom Classic CC + Photoshop CC + 20GB Cloud - $10/month

LR CC + LR Classic CC + PS CC + 1TB Cloud - $20/month

Pretty obvious: #1 if you use the cloud, #2 if you have TB of images and use PS, #3 if you want both.

But again - what exactly is the capability of the LR CC tool suite vs. the LR Classic CC app? Will the LR CC suite be even faster than LR Classic (I can't see how)? Will LR Classic CC be updated in parallel with LR CC, or is LR CC Adobe's final solution to LR 2015 CC performance problems...just replace it?

It may be worth checking out AfterShot Pro 3.

I got it on black Friday for $20 and that was still way too expensive.   It does very poor conversions compared to literally anything else I've used.

I just tried to download CC Classic and my W7 PC is not compatable (it says). Doh.

Is it missing features?  Or is it just the current Lightroom CC, renamed, with no new ones?

Sounds like they wanted to take the Lightroom CC name and transfer it to the rewritten, more-Cloud-oriented code base.
