Panasonic GH 5 AWB Colour balance

I have the GH5 about two months and I find the AWB not accurate .

I have used a white card a grey card to get the colour's correct but it just does not work when I compare to the LVf /monitor on the camera .

I wonder is there a way to colour balance the LVF or the monitor so as I can get an idea how the colour  should look .

I photograph in Raw and j.peg and i can always correct in post production but would like to know what I have before I get to that stage .

Have used the Olympus epl6 and found no problems in AWB

Would appreciate  any suggestion's.

Thanks

Go to Tools menu, pg 2 "Monitor display" and you can change briteness, contrast, sat., and color balance. The LVF has no such controls AFAIK, but I've found the color balance of both to be very good.

I've been very pleased with the GH5's OOC color balance - particularly skin tones - in Standard style

... I rarely do it, and not own a GH, but if it would perform the same as other Panys, when access the Mon Display and have eye on evf, the adjustment could be done to evf...

But be honest, I won't suggest doing it. We are on 100% live view shooting. What the simulation displayed in evf/LCD will be a direct reflection of the output from the sensor. If we adjust the LCD/evf even as simple as the brightness, the display in evf/lcd might no longer truly reflect the actual output anymore (unless we know the difference and know how much to adjust for the compensation, which not convenience and as accurate) that such visual guide might  lead us to wrong setting.

Because of the improved jpg engine of Pany, I shoot jpg mainly nowadays and so far I have observed, if the AWB is not correct, it will just reflect what the ended product will be produced. It is a perfect alert making us to correct it. If we tweaked our evf/LCD and making the incorrect WB output to looking right, we might just miss the chance to correct it in time. PP is powerful, but if we can nail it SOOC, would that be the eventual goal of us to have a better gear?

Just my 0.02.

By George you nailed it, Albert! I thought I remembered that the EVF color/briteness were adjustable, but couldn't find it in the menu of either body. Put you eye to the EVF with the monitor display menu selected, and it switches to EVF in both GH4 & 5. Thanks,

Pete
