760D yongnuo iv

HI all,

I cant seem to get my flash to fire.  I have read quite a few online manuals and still cant work out how to get the flash to fire on top of my 760D.  I test the flash by the pilot button and id fires, but when I take a picture with the camera it wont fire. I have camera in manual mode, I have tired to reset the flash and still no joy.  I will include a screen shot of the flash.

Many thanks

What have you got set in the flash control menu on the camera?

That maybe the area !

It's just initially when i went to the flash setup on the camera it told me incompatible flash and i just thought because it was not canon flash , explain the steps i should follow and i'll let you know

thanks

I just read this tip, but i'll try it when my carer comes in tonight
( The most likely issue that prevents the flash from firing is if your CAMERA is in live view mode, on continuous low or continuous high drive mode. Be sure you're using the viewfinder and that when you press the shutter button down and hold it, only one picture is taken.)

Not sure exactly what they mean other than turn live view off

But i'm more concerned about the camera menu and the incompatible flash message

Clean the contacts of the flash and the camera hotshoe.

Put your camera in one-shot mode and not burst mode and try it out. Many third-party flashes don't fire in liveview, so you have to turn off liveview.
