I decided to keep the NX3300...

...and sell my NX300...am I crazy?

I find the quality of both Jpg and Raw considerably better on the nx3300, and also easier access to shutter/aperture/ev/iso using the "down" button (still wondering how they disnt implement it on the othe models, by far the moat intuitive way to swap between settings on the fly).

Nx300 is faster, and touch focus is a grace and in going to miss it, but image quality is just worse than the 3300, and iv'e been spending a whole week t3sting and comparing the 2.

I hope i won't regret it, but for now i gonna keep the wonderful little nx3300

I am not sure about the 3300, but I have a 3000, and definitely it has much better video than the 300. I do not own any 300 anymore, so can't test, but NX300 is much better on so many ways (ease of use, features), I just kept the NX3000 for size/weight, lovely 1080p video. For the rest, I am covered with 2 more Nx1s and 1 NX500,

I am not sure about differences between 3000 vs 3300 though. The monitor is really terrible too.

Sorry, but for video the NX300 is much better. It delivers 1080p ate 60fps... The AF is also much better. I just don't understand how can one say the opposite...

I think Kisaha was referring to the poorer codec in use on the nx300 compared to the one used in the nx3000.

Re: I decided to keep the NX3300...

NX3300 processing is far more better than the NX300, and that's almost the only reason I'm deciding to stay with it. I'm amazed of how much more details the NX3300 resolves in shadows in comparison to the NX300 who just renders solid patches of black and destroys textures. Maybe my NX300 is faulty, though i dont think so, I would really like to keep it but after a week of comparison, the images out of the NX3300 are simply better in many ways.

The greek soccer team Panathinaikos and the NX3000 video quality...

Stating that the NX 3000 is better in video than the NX300 is pure nonsense. The video of the NX3000 is shaky, because it is not in 60fps. On the contrary, the video in the NX300 is smooth. The AF is great. In good light the IQ is almost identivcal to the NX500. The AF of the NX3000 is slow and unreliable in video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqNHmWJjDrQ

Now, for stills, that's a different story. I think the NX3000 is better. I saw a comparison here, in this forum between the 2, some years ago.

I think my troika buddy is a little bit confused here. Maybe it has to do with the fact that his Panathinaikos lost against my sporting, and now against Juventus in the Champions league... LOL

PS: Actually I support Benfica

I dumped my NX3000 because of it`s undependable and slow AF, especially in less than ideal lighting situations. I went with the NX300 and never looked back. AF is more important to me than ultimate IQ although I never did compare image quality so I can`t comment on whichwas better . I really loathe using a camera with a mediocre AF focus capability and the NX3000 was just that.

That all said the NX 3300 IS a newer model and could very well have improved IQ but If the AF is anything like in the NX3000 , forget it. It`s not worth the trade off , not for me anyway.

Iv'e actually just read that the NX3300 was the last camera Samsung ever manufactured, so they might just made it their best

Btw i also owned the NX3000, and failed to find any difference between them except for a cosmetic one.

Re: NX3000 video quality...

The nx3300 main feature was the flip up screen that allowed it`s user to take selfies and most often came in the US with the 20-50 non stabilized kit lens. It was a much better package with the 16-50 OIS kit lens IF you could find one.

The NX3000 had the exact same screen, but indeed they were bundled with different lenses as you mentioned.

Some claims for faster processor on the NX3300 vs NX3000, but i didn't noticed any speed improvement in operation.

Re: NX3000 video quality...

I think NX3300 was sold in the EU with the 16-50 F3.5-5.6 OIS kit lens, at least here in Hungary. It was still available in some electronics stores (like Media Markt) one year ago.

Thanks for posting that, I've always wondered about the NX3300 vs 3000 since reviews were so scarce

Just remember the NX3000 and most likely the NX3300 does noise reductions on the RAWs on anything above ISO400 and you cannot turn it off.

Are you implying that NX300's raws are better?

Re: The greek soccer team Panathinaikos and the NX3000 video quality...

Well for flexible shooting yes. So on the NX300 or NX200 or NX1100 which I've owned I can leave the camera to decide ISO and high ISO still looks great. The NX3000 uses heavy noise reduction on the higher ISO's so ISO 1600 plus look ugly.

I end up limiting it to ISO 200 and pushing it later in post to get better results.

Also discussed here

As it happens its not that big a deal if you limit ISO to 200 and push in post (the Nx3000 is almost ISO invariant) however you have to keep an eye on the shutter speed. What I like about the NX3000 however is that it has almost no shutter shock.
