Panasonic 100-300mm II shutter shock on Olympus

I noticed my camera store has a used Panasonic 100-3mm mark II in stock, claimed to be in mint condition. My salesman will be holding it for me, and I will go in Saturday or Sunday to check it out. Just to be clear, this is the mark II that is weather sealed, and not the mark I.

I've seen some references to shutter shock on Olympus bodies. Could somebody list what to look for with SS? I have 2 main bodies (Olympus E-m1 mark I and Panasonic G85), but occasionally I may drag the E-m5 mark I or E-pm2 out of semi retirement, but for the moment consider the E-m1 mark I and G85 will be the only 2 cameras I would use the lens on.

I assume I probably don't have to do anything with the G85.

For the E-m1 mark I, I see using either 0 second anti-shock or electronic shutter to be the recommended practice for this lens. Now, I've tried the electronic shutter after the E-m1 mark I firmware came out, and I didn't like it too much (too much subject movement for the quick tests that I did). I don't recall if I'm using anti-shock at this point.

If push comes to shove, I could always just use it on the G85 (where the dual IS and DFD options of the lens would be used). I would prefer whatever option used on the E-m1 is one that I could use all of the time.

If you are concerned about SS, electronic shutter is the way to go. I use it whenever my EM1.2 allows me to use it (it is blocked in some cases with long exposure and with Hi-Res I believe), and I've seen no issues with it so far. I use it with my PL100-400, no issue, no risk of SS.

The electronic shutter on the E-M1.1 will be fine for stationary targets.  It is not good for things that are moving with any great speed.  I used it exclusively for stationary birds, landscape, flowers, people (not moving), but not for BIFs or with artificial light.  The zero anti-shock is better than the normal mechanical shutter for shutter speeds below 1/320, but according to Imaging Resource, not as good as the Electronic shutter for stationary photography.

Yeah, I remember getting the movement effects when I tried the electronic shutter on moving targets.  Thanks.

I bought the lens

I bought the lens for $469US with taxes bringing it up to $499. Now we'll see how well it works.
