Canon EF 200/2.8 overexposing and errors

My Canon EF 200/2.8 USM is around 10 years old and recently started overexposing images. After running the same shot through all the f-stops it is clear that the camera exposes correctly at f2.8 and increasingly overexposes the higher the f-stop with f8 already being severely overexposed.

I am also getting occasionally error messages regarding the contacts of the lens but the contacts are clean and not damaged.

I have the same issues with this lens on my Canon 80D and older 40D. All my other lenses work great with these bodies.

Any ideas?

What happens when you  press the depth of field buttons?

Got to be the diaphragm sticking. As BAK suggests, see what happens when you press the DoF button.

Thank you both for your answers. You are right. The diaphragm is stuck. I pushed the DOF preview button many (40+) times at F32 and I can see through the lens that it only closes a tiny bit but not what it should.

I also tapped the lens in the palm of my hand a few times trying to see if something is lodged in the diaphragm but that did not help either.

Next step is to go through a local lens repair shop to get this fixed. It's a great lens and probably worth the repair cost.
