EOS M10 with EF 100-2.8L shooting damselfly
9

I was just playing around with an EOS M10 which I bought for fun (as an open box item it was so cheap I couldn't resist buying it... )

The camera is more responsive than my original EOS M but I still thinking about an upgrade to the M6 or M5

Picture edited to taste in DPP (slightly cropped and a little branch cloned out)

Servo AF, Handheld

Ignoring the fact that it's....
1

...the lowest most entry level M camera and sporting an outdated 18 MP sensor (but with a newer image processing engine), don't underestimate what this M10 can do.

I was in the same boat.  Although I already had the likes of the M, M2, and M3, I saw one at a ridiculously low price - a new one with 14-45 lens at only $369 USD off of eBay (with a US warranty).  I quickly snatched it up and then gave it to my wife - which she used only a few times (lazily returning to her habit of shooting with a smart phone, sigh).  When I took the M10 back and began using it, I became very enamored with its capabilities and was exceptionally  pleased with the IQ I was getting (both in the clarity and colors department).

Some of the finest IQ levels that I've seen have come from entry level models in which the users knew what they were doing from the standpoint of photographic knowledge and knowing the cameras they were using.  This M10 can rank up there with the best of 'em - within reason of course.

Nice pic!

It will be interesting to see what sensor/AF the rumored M20 has.

Lovely sharp image.  I recommend this be viewed at a larger scale to appreciate the detail captured.  Wonderful picture!

yes, the M5 and M6 are faster focusing - - - even with an old non-is Canon 100mm 2.8 macro

You're correct Marco, the 100 f/2.8L lens is extraordinary. I borrowed my daughter's copy to shoot the harvest mice and was well pleased with the images. Great shot robbert100

Though not perfect technically speaking, very beautiful and appealing image.

Well done!
