Some pixelshift shots taken with K3 II

For this kind of shots the K3II, 100mm DA WR macro and pixelshift function is perfect setup for me!

Maybe later i will add Venus Laowa 60mm  for true macro shots > 1:1

Please see photos at original size

Amazing detail!
Can't wait to see what the Laowa lens will perform like with this setup.

Another amazing set, I admire your dedication and patience to get these. Are they all taken in your orchard as before? If so it's one amazing place, especially as I always thought of Apollos as mountain butterflies. I've only ever managed to spot one in the Pyrenees and would love to be able to see them as close as you've managed never mind photographing them. I think that image of the Apollo would look superb on a poster print.

Walt, if at end June/first days July 2018 you will come in Italy we will go together to photograph them... If we are lucky to find them. In 2016 i found apollo on July 12th, in 2017 on June 24th...

Of course, they've been telling us about the heat wave that southern Europe has been having this year. It's easy to forget when you are sitting in a wet and cool 14°Celsius southern Britain!

I had a look around the link to Campo Imperatore and it does sound a pretty good environment. I never quite got that far south on my Italy trips, but it looks like it was my loss.

Thanks for the info.

Amazingly sharp.

Are you drugging the insects to get them to hold still?
