iPhone died, hello Google Pixel XL
2

After the battery of my iPhone expanded pushing the screen out, I had to quickly get a new cell phone. And a real good deal for the  Google Pixel XL was ongoing at  my cell phone provider. I knew nothing about Android mobile devices as I have been a Mac user for decades.

I absolutely love this phone AND camera.  Getting used to the Android (Nougat) environnement was a breeze.

I am not a professional photographer, and mainly use cameras to documents scenes that I will later draw. The quality of the images are spectacular on the Pixel. The dynamic range is great. How often can you say that the picture you took captures exactly what you saw with your own eyes (quality of the light, crispness of the color, feeling of space). I also took a picture indoors, with all sorts of lighting (light flooding in by a large patio door, ceiling lighting, tv, etc) and the image was perfect lighting wise first take ! I am impressed.

So, sad to see the iPhone die, but glad to have discovered this Android phone and its neat camera.  I am not giving 5 stars, as again we have a phone with a battery life that could be improved.

On the plus side the included adapter (110 volt to C type USB) charges it very quickly. I also have a USB charging port in my truck.

Warning: I love the OLED screen way TOO much as my next TV purchase will now have to be OLED as well

Cheers, James

I charge it at work, in the car, etc. But I am still dreaming of a battery that would last, last, last, and that charging a phone would be something we do once in a while, not on a daily basis.

That said, I now have had the Google Pixel XL for more then a month, and I wouldn't go back to iPhone. The camera on the Google Pixel XL is just amazing. I find myself leaving my regular camera at home when going out to venues where I might take pictures.

All in all a great buy.
