I typically fly internationally twice a year but have not yet flown during the new Trump regulations. Anyone had any problems internationally with camera gear not being allowed on the plane?

Thanks in advance.

Last I heard, the ban on laptops & large electronics as carry-ons from certain Muslim-majority nations was lifted as they all met the necessary screening rules. Otherwise, everything is basically the same as it has always been. Check directly with the airlines you'll be using.

They have lifted the laptop ban for Turkish Airlines, and I think some of the other middle eastern airlines as well. Definitely check with your airline before you go.

I would still have a backup plan in place. The bans are not off the table, and they could reinstate them at any time with little to no warning. I flew through Istanbul with a bunch of electronics right before the ban was declared last March, and I would have had some real problems getting my gear home had I been traveling a few days later.

Also, expect more thorough security checks for your gear. When I left Atlanta on an international flight last February, they swabbed *everything*, including every single SD card and flash gel.

Shave off your beard and you will be fine.

I've flown to Australia a couple of times this year and carrying a camera bag onboard is no problem.

In the past the schlubs at the airport have taken both ends off of Otus lenses and looked through them. I preset them to be wide open before flying just to avoid any additional mishandling.

The last thorough check I had in Frankfurt, the girl was so hot I was hoping she'd give me the same inspection.

She didn't...... sigh.

No problems here in Australia, although I had once in Frankfurt airport to remove the camera memory card.......
