OK, folks, heads up...

I've been very tempted to follow the advice of a few of you and lock this thread.  However, there is some valuable information and sharing of opinions here, so I'm going to leave the thread alone for now.  However, I've had to delete quite a few messages and I'm going to ask everyone to please keep it civil or else the big hammer is gonna drop!

Re: X-Pro2 Deal -- or film camera?

Mulling this one over, big time.  I've been interested in the 23mm f/2 and possibly the 50mm f/2.  Hadn't given much thought the X-Pro2 (since I already have the X-T2), but this might be too good an offer to pass up.

The problem is that I was really planning to use some of the money I'd saved for a film camera.  Perhaps a Contax G2 or a Mamiya 7.

Not sure which direction to go.

Someone call the dpreview deal police... Oh wait...

I'm still just absolutely astounded that someone on this thread construed purchasing an advertised deal as "stealing". I mean, I read the B&H site when this thread was first started and it clearly stated, "...bundle and save up to $1,800".

It looked completely legit and I'm wiling to bet that B&H believed it was legit when they wrote the text inviting you to save $1,800. I just thought it was a really nice deal that was running for whatever reason. Now maybe it's possible that Fuji and B&H weren't on the same wave length about how the deal was supposed to work. But still, why on earth would anyone's mind jump to, "this is stealing!"?

It really bothers me when people say things online that they would be unlikely to say in person to another human. Very few of us would imply that someone is a thief to their face, especially for something as innocuous as purchasing an advertised sale item. But somehow, that kind of discourse is tolerated (and sometime even praised) when done online.

Did BH offer the deal too?

Yes, B&H was offering the deal to "save up to $1,800".

Same deal at both? I looked at Adorama and it was letting you order all three lenses for a killer price each. I almost did it just to have a second body and two lenses I don't yet own.

I don't believe B&H was doing it the same way - I purchased an XP2, 23/2 and 50/2 on 7/5 and only one lens was at the bundled price - which is what I expected.

I apologize. I was in error. It wasn't B&H. I was on Adorama's site. I was confused when I posted.

Re: For the record

I wish B&H was doing the same - I'd be going for a price adjustment.

Doesn't one of the B&H people post here?  The customer service people I worked with there asking about whether the Adorama deal should have been correct for B&H too wasn't hugely useful.  I wouldn't mind talking to their advocate.
