Cancun Adventures

I just returned from Cancun and had a great time. I recently purchased the Meikon housing for my Sony a6000, brought along my a6300 and also my Olympus TG4. I took my first scuba lesson so left the Meikon housing behind as I did not want the learning curve of using that to conflict with my scuba lesson. The TG4 did a great job.....this is not meant to be really a pro camera but with enough decent light, it got the job done for my standards. Here are a few pics and then my entire blog post with all the images can be viewed at http://www.robertbaker.photography/soggy-peso-cancun-mexico-2017-adventures/

Shot with TG4 at approximately 25 ft of water and no extra strobe lighting.

Shot with Sony a6000 and Meikon housing - purposeful high saturation output for this photo.

1. Don't point your camera down.

2.  Use Strobes.

I thought it was a nice sampling of 4 for someone who has 1 or 2 dives, and otherwise snorkels.

he just started diving - probably shouldn't carry any camera at all initially, until he has basic buoyancy and air supply monitoring skills. If yes, then light and easy - no strobes. And since they only work to ~6 feet, not applicable to many of his subjects.

Main suggestion from me is to shoot raw so you can fix the white balance. The TG4 is good choice during early experience.
