Perfect sized hard case for M kit - Lowepro Hardside Video 200
2

Just thought I'd give this case a quick mention as I picked one up a few weeks ago and it's turned out to be a great fit for my EOS M kit.

The Hardside 200 is a hard case, similar to the Pelican ones, with a zip-up padded insert which can be removed and carried as a bag/backpack (it has tuck away straps).

At the moment I'm able to store my M body, some batteries and other miscellaneous accessories, 3x filters in cases, 11-22, 18-55, 22/2, 28/3.5 macro, and 55-200 lenses, EF-EOS M adaptor, and still have some good sized compartments left over.

The insert is tall enough to also accomodate M3/M6 bodies (sans viewfinder), but I'm not sure if the M5 would fit in there vertically - it might have to be laying down instead.

My only criticism so far is that the fold away straps aren't removable.  Because they tuck away into a full length pocket on the back (or base, as it sits in the case), and also have to be folded over at least once to fit, they do take away a little bit of the usable depth despite not being particularly thick. I'd like to be able to remove them, as I'm unlikely to ever make use of them - I may just cut them off at some stage.  It's only a minor quibble though.

Other than that, it's a great case, and could also double as a small case for a 5D/6D/7D kit with a couple of lenses, if you don't mind have the camera laying down flat and the lenses on their sides.

Here's the case with my M kit:

I'll have to set up a new compartment for an M2 that will be arriving next week.

nice setup but seems to take the whole go light and small away from the beauty of the M system.

i now travel with a tiny Ona bowery leather bag and easily bodied it to hold, 22,11-22,18-150, 55-200, M5 with adapted 35 F2IS on body, 3 batteries, iPad mini, couple filters.... all nice and super small..
