SDQ-H 85 1.4 Art, 17-50 2.8

my first trial of the SDQ-H. Day light ISO 100. The 17-50 2.8 gives heavy vignetting at the wide end, the 85 1.4 is incredible my son's portrait is great, all pictures are unedited OOC JPG. I need to compare it to the SDQ and SD1 but I am really impressed.

Really show the qualities of the Q-H and the 85mm.  Great shots!

Thank you. Uncropped images from the 17-50 are very helpful.

I have the standard SDQ (not H) and the 17-50 2.8 OS, and there is of course no vignetting. What is worth noting is how good the images are and how well balanced  the camera is. In context the 17-50 is not a large lens. The OS makes the camera far more versatile.

that vignetting is disturbing: but it's not like that's the hood ?

The vignetting is because the sensor size is larger with a crop of 1.3 on the sdq-H and the lens is designed for the 1.5 crop sensor. I don't think the hood is the reason.

thanks  I have the sdqh but I don't have that lens  but I remember similar lenses for cropped with a much bigger black circle than that  when mounted on bigger sensors

that small vignetting only at the corners reminded a wrong hood or a thick filter immediately

a simple shot on wide without the hood and filter could give a definitive answer because you sound right and the hood thing may be wrong but you never know
