NX1100 Problem

Hi guys new to the Forum so go easy on me

For some reason my camera has stopped working full stop, I recharged the battery and the only thing this camera does now is show the power light when you turn it on and when you turn it off the power light is still left on for some reason

Any info would be greatly appreciated guys...

Thanks

Matt

Re: NX1100 Problem

There is no magical way to reset the camera, if it doesn't turn on. Best to find a repair store or send it to Samsung for repair.

No!!!!

Connect it to the USB of a computer, and let it stay there for sometime. It will then recharge normally ... This is a common issue with all NX cameras

Hope this help

And what NX camera do you personally own that has that issue?

What? Ignore Flip21? How dare you say something like that.? Bad boy!!!

I own the Samsung NX2, the Nx600, plus the NX50, all prototype models, that were made, but that aren't available to anyone, except some VIPs, like Kisaha, and some Samsung Trolls, like me...

Visual (can I call you Visual?) I had the same problem with some of my Samsung gear ... Hence I believe this is the problem. In fact, I'm almost 100% this is the problem...

PS: about sharing. I love to share, but the problem is that with the Internet, everyone shares, and nobody cares about the owner rights. that is why Piracy prevails. Until there are some good laws to protect the owner rights, I avoid sharing on the Internet my stuff...

I like how you seemingly state this so casually; if I didn't know better, I would assume you're speaking from a vast reservoir of experience. So I will speak from my very limited experience of having owned just seven NX cameras (I still use three extensively), this has never been an issue.

I can't believe I just repeated your use of the word issue . I have stated for years that men haveproblems; women have issues .

Hope this help

BTW, I hope it works too.

Bu!!!!! I'm not an english native speaker man. For me issue is a problem... I had the same problem with an nx30, and then I read it here that if you connect the camera to the USB it started functioning again, and it did. The camera seemed dead until I connected to the USB port... and then came alive...

I'm only sharing what I learn here. I'm not that experienced. Anyway, my Nx30 is always doing that same thing, and I'm always connecting it to the USB...

I don't share photos, but I try to share knowledge

PS: Well, I found it. here it is:

How about removing the battery and leaving the camera for a week or even a fortnight to allow the internal battery to drain. This will give a hard reset unless stuff is stored in non volatile memory.

It has been discussed in other forums and has I believe worked and is the only way to get this always on kit to actually switch off.

Ups! I didn't know that. Anyway, you can connect the camera to the USB, so you can see what is in the SD card. So it can be charged, or operate, under USB, right? I'm sure this works. And then, you can try recharging it again. This happened to me with an old Samsung device..

Hey lets see if we can find out whats going on with your camera.

Are you sure the battery is getting a charge? (Can use avoltmeter to look for a charge on the battery)

Have you tired a different usb cable?

Have you looked in the micro usb port on the camera for obstructions or damage? (If dust or other obstructions use air to blow it out dont pick it out but if you must be extremely careful not to damage the contacts)

When you plug it into the pc/mac will the computer find a device?

When the camera is plugged in is the charge light on?

When camera is turned on is there any activity from the camera or does it remain in an off state?

If the pc/mac wont see the camera i want you to try this for me:

Turn camera on and plug it into the computer and SLIGHTLY push down/up (not hard) the usb thats connected to the camera and look to see if the computer finds the camera, what we are trying to see by doing this is to find out if there is a bad connection from the usb port to the camera's board.

The battery charges ok with the charger, when i plug it into the pc it doesn't find any device, no charge light on either..  When the camera turns on the only thing it does is a yellow/green light near the menu button(which when you turn the camera off stays on for some reason).. tried the the last step and nothing happens..

Ok now i want you to remove the battery and clean the contacts on the battery and on the camera with isopropyl alcohol and a qtip.

Then demount lens, remove SD card, without battery in power on the camera for 15 seconds.

Turn off the camera re insert the battery and turn on the camera (lens is not connected, sd card is still removed) leave camera on for a few minutes.

If it still wont turn on pull the battery, turn off camera, re insert the battery and turn on, do this a few times.

Also the issue might be the battery, do you have a spare to test? If not use a voltmeter to check to see if the battery is putting out the right voltage.
