With additional files from Jim Kasson I now have Fixed Pattern Noise (FPN) visualizations at both ISO 100 and ISO 640 (where High Conversion Gain begins).

From my Sensor Heatmaps:

Generally FPN is less apparent at higher ISO settings; but it's nice to see some confirmation.

Here's a different way of looking at the same data:

Nice work !

Likewise!

The period on the spiky variations is strange; 1/3 sampling rate, 1/6 sampling rate. I don't know what to make of that. Maybe the a9 does some multiplexing in 3 or 6 row groups?

It does offend my binary brain.

Does that mean A9 IS no good at base ISO level?

It's good at base ISO , just not as good as d750 or A7RIIĀ

Here's another way to look at it, in 3D:

Left: ISO 100 Right: ISO 640

Best viewed as Original Size.

Imagine the magenta FPN staying put and the blue read noise rising up to mask it.
(A simplification but close enough.)

Jim

So you don't think it's an artifact of the on sensor Phase Detect pixels?

I'm sure Jim will also have an opinion but in my experience when I have seen PDAF in my FPN testing the pattern has been much more regular.
