I went for a walk in the neighborhood with a6500 and Sony 55mm f1.8. I shot RAW.

When I open the files in lightroom, Adobe Standard seems to be very dull with no contrast.

I had to bump up clarity, vibrance, contrast to get something similar to what I remembered as Sony color, mostly from a RX1 that I owned briefly.

Is this normal? I've attached the Adobe Standard and what I ended up with. Seems that the pictures were quite foggy without any post processing? Nothing wrong with the lens or body, right? Don't remember this with the RX1.

oh. also shot a BIF picture with the 55mm. Had to crop really hard.

This is something I've been trying to figure out for some time now. I am shooting always RAW + JPG. The color profile for JPG on my Sony a6500 is set to -3 saturation -3 contrast -3 sharpness which is what i love. It gives me almost S-LOG kind of profile. But I've been trying to figure out is there a way to export SONY picture profile and import it to let say Lightroom or Capture One so that I could use it on RAW file and have the same what I had on my sony screen.

So far no success. Even when trying to go down with - saturation and contrast in lightroom when using raw, I cant get even close to what I have on my JPG.

This is why Sony & Phase One created Capture One. There is a FREE version call Capture One Express for Sony. You get to keep and use the express version forever for free, which is more than good enough for >95% of users. You also get to use the Pro version for 10 days to see if you want/need it. I gave it a try and was so pleased with it, I decided to upgrade for only $50 to the Pro version. Capture One Pro costs $299 for any non-Sony user, so for only $50 it is a steal!

I shoot RAW+JPEG and simply use the Auto correct button on RAW files that "bump up clarity, vibrancy & contrast" which does >95% of all processing in one click. Then, if I want to bring out shadows, tone down highlights, etc... that can be done very quickly and easily. It also comes with a profile for every Sony camera which helps make both RAW & JPEG pictures look great.

Anyone who does not like what your current post processing SW is giving you should to try it out. The express version is FREE, so you have nothing to lose by giving it a try. If you don't, you will never know how good your pictures can really look.

IMO Adobe Standard sucks. YMMV. Capture One has most Sony camera profiles built in so it applies the correct profile upon import. You can also create your own Styles and Presets to apply upon import. So if you have a particular look it can be applied directly. Here is their YouTube channel. It has hours of tutorials to learn from.

That's pretty much what I do except I don't bother with JPG, I just shoot RAW. I also just hit the Auto button which gets me most of the way there and usually bring the highlights down to avoid clipping and lift the shadows for the same reason and add a little vibrance, clarity and structure and Ba Da Bing it's really good. If needed I'll add layers for local adjustments if I feel it needs it. That's all I did for these or even less. I.E. just hit Auto.

Previous posters have already said it all. C1 Pro for Sony, and no wishes left.

Funykspoo, don't know whatSW you used for the Pano. I usually use the free Microsoft Image Composite Editor to compose such panos. It has a nice function Auto-Complete similar to the healing brush of PS and works great.

Took the liberty to edit your last pic:

Thanks but the rough edges are intentional and a design choice that I sometime use and that I like. To each his own though. I use Photoshop CC
