700D Err 01 Issue

Hello,

I have recently been having trouble with my 700D. While on a shoot recently, the camera was turned off and wouldn't turn back on again. After replacing the battery, the camera kept giving me the message "Err 01. Communication between camera and lens is faulty.  Clean the lens contacts."

I have tried cleaning the contacts, following the method of taking a photo before placing the lens back on again partially, as well as switching the lens with another one. Both lenses work completely fine on my old Rebel T3, just not on the 700D.

I noticed that the white square (the one used for lining up the lens properly), rotates further on the T3 than on the 700D, though I'm not sure if this could be the issue as the camera was working fine just a few days ago.

I am going on a shoot in six days in a foreign country, so would ideally need to fix the camera before then.  Any suggestions are welcome.

The two lenses I have tried using are both 18-55 Canon kit lenses.

Thank you.
