NX200: Mechanic Shutter Issue, Fix Possible?

Hi,

I'm new to this forum because I need some help with a NX200 camera.

The problem is as followed:

I bought the body as "defect", because the shutter was permanently closed and a repair for Samsung was said to be "no longer worth". In this situation there was a small piece of a metallic level sticking between body and shutter.

As I didn't take a photo at this time, I created a mockup picture for this (#1, see drawn white line).

#1 White line marks metallic item stucking

Then I have started disassembling the body and found the mechanics for the shutter. I took a picture (#2) and labeled the found parts from A to F. Part F is probably the one I was seeing outside in step 1 (#1)

I was moving around the parts a bit, shutter went open once. Then I was able to assemble it once, clicked on button to take a photo, shutter closed and remained so.

#2 disassembling shutter mechanics

Now I investigated the moving parts more in detail. I first try the metallic lever (F) was fixed in the top position, now it is easily moving. Is this a good or bad sign?

#3 moving parts removed

Now the main question is: how should the moving parts be placed properly to get the shutter working again? Does anybody have a repair/service manual for this case?

Sorry if some terms are not correct, not sure about every translation. I'm a software developer and usually have nothing to do with such tiny hardware

Any help is very appreciated!

Thank you in advance.

Maybe this information is useful for others, so I thought I share it here for reference.

After posting here, I continued to disassemble the camera into all parts:

Full disassembly, broken shutter on lower left side (black "box")

I even disassembled the shutter itself to take a look into it. A short warning: if you plan to reuse it, don't do this. The parts are so small that you can barely assemble them again.

Shutter parts

Luckily I found a spare part at ebay from UK, which I got for less then 20€ including shipping to Germany

New NX200 shutter

The reassembling was quite quick, as I did it 2 times already before. I mounted the new shutter on the body first.

New shutter in camera body

then continued with the sensor and the motherboard including cabling:

Sensor added

The camera was reassembled completely in less than 1 hour (had to take photos for documentation).

Once done, I put back the battery, turned on the camera and was amazed to test the new shutter. Everything working well!

Maybe because I tested with my other lens from NX3000, the 16-50mm OIS PZ, there were some image errors on taken photos. The left side had a blue color band on image.

I tried some things: developer menu -> reset factory defaults. Flash new firmware (1.03 to 1.13). After this flash the developer menu is no longer accessible. Not sure which part finally solved the problem, possibly the firmware.

Now the pictures are looking good and I fixed my bought camera by less than 20€ replacement parts and a few hours of investigation and testing.

Congratulations! Although I'd never trust myself to attempt something like this..
