Thanks. I have 100-300mm mk1 and GH4 and I want to update. Seems that image is quite much better with GH5 and mk2.

Colors and brightness are very different in your GH4 vs GH5. I think the light changed in your outdoor clips.

Are the photos JPG or from RAW? How about the OIS in mk2 lens. Is it good when using with GH4. Does it have micro vibration in video like some POWER OIS lenses?

As optics are uncanged in the Mk I and Mk II , you are testing GH4 vs GH5

I tried to match the settings as close as possible, but maybe i missed something. I did not have the impression that the light changed a lot. Maybe i need to check some settings i did not think off.

The images were taken from JPG, but i have shot also in Raw, but since my favorite Raw development DXO Optics does not support yet the GH5 i took the jpg.

What you cannot see in the video: The biggest improvement is the FOCUS. i really hated to focus behaviour of the Mark 1. the new one is way snappier and accurate. And secondly the Dual-IS2 is simple amazing.

I specifically wanted to test the old setup vs. the new setup, because people also might think about upgrading, and want to know what kind of improvement is there to expect.

i never felt warm with the GH4/100-300mm but love the new setup. mainly because of far better focus. and that is some info i thought people might be interested in

If anybody is interested, i can also make a comparison on the same body. Since i still have GH4/GH5 100-300 in both flavors i could do a same-body comparison

As optics are uncanged in the Mk I and Mk II , you are testing GH4 vs GH5

... and the improved focus mechanics of the new lens, and the improved coordination between IBIS and OIS of the new lens.

Plus, of course, the use of glass, and coating, the changes in production line (one would guess) yielding more accurate assembly.

On the other hand, there is sample variation.

The video, alas, does not really make a good show case for all of the above. The new package's output does look much nicer, though

I have GH4 and I want to update my lens. Can you compare both lens OIS with GH4?

Is the new POWER OIS as good as the old MEGA OIS. I want to know if the new lens is free of micro vibration in video with GH4. My 14-140mm POWER OIS vibrates nasty in video with GH4. My old 100-300mm is much more stable hand held at 300mm than the 14-140mm at 140mm.
