No amount of IS can stop the subject from moving.

Not all scenes have significant motion, and many scenes with little to no motion would benefit from a little more DOF.

Even a scene with a significant motion can benefit from IS - if you want (part of) the subject to be motion blurred but not everything else.

Re: Lens Poll.

If you were Canon or Sigma, this poll would tell you that your idea is not commercially viable for the market. Back to the drawing board.

I am all about the images not the gear.

Re: Lens Poll.

No, b/c I'm using the 35 1.4 in critical situations to make sure I get the shot and for creative effects. Sharpness isn't everything, getting the shot is everything.

It's the raison d'être for the lens. I'm sure people shooting the 85 1.2 (or others) feel the same way.

When weight/size is a concern, I switch the camera body entirely, and the lens to the SL1 with 24 2.8. I used to shoot with the X100s for similar purpose. I get where you are going, but I think there are already better/smaller/multiple options out there.

The poll was whether I would be interested. I would not be interested, and my followup post is a major reason. The lens in question is often a 135L, which I shoot wide open. I don't need IS. I can handhold more steadily than my typical subject. So there is no point to the suggested lenses.
