Is the canon ef-m 22mm f2 best for portrait?

I always take portrait photos by canon ef 50 f1.8.

sometimes i have to step back a lot and i can't take picture in some situation.

I have the canon eos m10 and I'm wondering how is portrait from this lens.

can anyone share the portrait from this lens?  I see a lot of review of this lens but they usually post the pictures of other style.

Thanks.

ps. sorry for my bad English.

Good for environmental portraits, too short for classic headshots...

if you find a 50mm too tight, try the 40STM.

no, the 22mm f/2 is not the best for portraits because of the wider angle perspective but it's good for "environmental" type shots

You can do portraits with the 22mm, keep your subject close and the background far to max out DOF, or incorporate the BG into your portrait.

Another approach is to use rangefinder lenses with an adapter.  I've use a Leica-m mount to eos-m adapter to mount a voigtlander f1.5 50mm lens with excellent wide open bokeh and an equivalent 80 mm FOV.  Great portraits.

If you are looking for an M lens suitable for portraits, the 28mm would be a step in the right direction;  more appropriate than the 22, but still well short of an ideal portrait lens.  And, at f/3.5, not a lot of background blurring.  My copy of the 18-150 is excellent and I've used it for this purpose at around 50mm (80mm ff equivalent) but still not ideal unless the background is quite distant.

I don't have an adapter, but if I did I would use my 50mm f/1.4 for this.
