Today my $190 PL6 arrived in the mail from Robert's Camera, and I was as happy as a kid with a red fire engine under the Christmas tree. It's pretty well a PL3, with a touch screen, that tilts more, and a red ring around the lens housing. And, it does have the 16mp sensor and goes off like a machine gun on continuous shutter setting. What a nice little camera, it surely is. And, when I put my FlashAir card in the PL6, the Olympus Share app recognizes it and zips all the photos to my Apple Photos camera roll, which is a very nice feature. The shutter seems quieter on my PL6, and it makes less noise. Overall, it's just a slightly better mousetrap than my old camera bodies. And, Oly has finally made their Pen cameras where they will stand upright with most of the common lenses, making it handier to use a table or a railing as a tripod replacement.
There was a local club meeting tonight, and I put my Oly 45 on the PL6 and even mounted up the VF-2 viewfinder. The camera is faster, and snappier to use than the PL3, which I thought was fast in it's own right.
My camera had less than 500 clicks on it, and it looks new. But the proof is in the picture taking, and truth be told, I couldn't tell any difference using the PL6 over the PL3 or the P3. They are all good image takers. My club members loved the photos, as they always do, and I think I have a new favorite camera.
Oly never has made any bad MFT cameras, but they keep making better handling, faster running cameras with more do dads and gizmos on them.

I went outside and saw how it would work in the failing light.

The trouble with Olympus is, that I honestly think I could have taken every one of those shots with my first PL1, and they would have looked virtually as good. I suppose those that blow the images up and look for faults would find more with the older cameras than the newer, but to my eyeballs they all look pretty good.
Olympus has made such a great gadget since the first Pens, that the only thing left to do is accumulate new camera bodies with more gee gaws, that are faster, quieter, and nicer to use.
I read about some guy in Vermont that lost his OMD Mk 5 with a weatherproof lens and it wintered in the snow, and it came out shooting. I guess I'll have to get around to getting one of those, in time.
But for now, I'm happy with the Pens I got.
