April weather - (DP1s)
22

Hi!
One photo from yesterday, made with my DP1s.

In central Europe, spring is known for weather conditions, when one low pressure system coming from the North Sea / Island is hunting for the next low, and so on... Gusty wind, short heavy rain showers, short sunshine episodes, nice wild clouds. In Germany such weather conds are well known as "Aprilwetter". I love it!

Wow, exceptional colours and lighting! Nice shot. I love what the F13 sensors can do, why can't SIGMA look to recreate the colours and rendering from those cameras?

Spring in the NW of England normally just means rain, rain and more rain, 100% overcast and generally pretty undramatic for photography. Glad to see someone is getting better conditions, thanks for sharing.

Meanwhile in sunny Alberta...

Today in Edmonton.   Deep and crisp and even...and still snowing.  Spring comes late to the high country.

Lovely shot.  In Maine USA, this time of year is referred to as "Mud Season."

Three weeks ago I thought we had missed the April weather this year.

Pretty colors, almost silky, especially in the clouds. Excellent capture!

Lovely image. I especially like the way the clouds are rendered.

Thank You all so much!

I havn't expected that much positive feedback.

Workflow was: SPP 4.2.2 - Darktable - GIMP

I always develope in SPP as good as possible, but often with somewhat reduced colour saturation.

In Darktable, I very much like the Velvia module then.    Of course made some more adjustments in DT like minor colour shifts, a clumsy repair of the typical DP1s green corners, enhanced microcontrasts in the clouds, repair of burned out areas with the new DT colour reconstruction module, reduced the colour fringe, etc. etc.   If You have a specific question, please ask.    GIMP only for final downsize and minimal sharpening when downsized.

Greetings!

Here's one photo from the same day & situation taken with the DP2s.

I alternated DP1s,  DP2s, SD9 on the tripod. But to be honest, one thing I've learnt again (and again and again): The more cameras, the more distraction and confusion.

A wonderful image which really shows us all how we fall in love with the Foveon colour tones that Sigma cameras have become renowned for over the years.

A great time of the year for photographing Landscapes with such changeable weather that can really impact on images.

You have produced a superb image in my opinion.

Kind regards Lea

+1 to that! Thanks for the DP2s shot.

Every so often I think "too many cameras" and I look at the less-used DP2s . . .

But shots like the above and a few of my own say "keep it" and sell one of the DSLR's and that would not be the SD10 . . hmmm . . .
