I was hoping to find something to interest me, above the 720, but not really.

I see nothing exciting either.

Though these cameras are fun to use and can provide good images under the right conditions.

I'm glad Canon abandoned the clunky placement of the SX720's mode dial and updated the rear buttons. The flip up LCD is okay but adds a bit more weight.

Certainly agree about an upgraded G3X II and G1X III.

I wouldnt be so harsh on the SX7** series because they are good cameras capable of good image quality.  Plus these days it seems most images are shared in smaller format or on smaller devices, so you will be hard pressed to note any image quality issues.
