If it came with the receiver/transceiver it may be at least worth sticking with Nikon, but spec wise and cost combined its just not valid.

Well, the one I had before that worked with my D750 and D7200 was like 20 bucks. Nikon must be high asking nearly $100 for some made-in-china, cheap-o remote.

The D750 and D7200 use the same consumer body style, and used a built-in infrared receiver. None of the Pro bodies use infrared. You're not in Kansas anymore

Read the description of that remote control and you can see it does a lot more that trip one camera's shutter, for those who need it. It will trigger a number of cameras (not a typical consumer use) and a number of flash units.

For regular people, what you can use is a Yongnuo RF-603NII . It will trigger the camera release and fire a flash, at a fraction of the cost of the Nikon unit.
