We tend to often become soooo damn overly picky with regards to camera performance, that we seemingly just can't wait for that next new release. But with older cameras such as the NX300, one comes to realize just how wonderful this model really was (and still is). It's a unique camera for a number of reasons - mainly, the ergonomics are sublime as the camera just slides into a proper grip the way this camera renders colors are both dynamic and sublime (my favorite scenic camera). Yes, I realize the NX500 improves upon that, but still - when you pick up the NX300, it just feels right and that's why I haven't parted with mine.

And BTW, you have some nice pics there that serve as a reminder that the "next best and greatest" thing may not necessarily be a game changer. As I often do for certain great performing cameras, I recommend that folks check eBay and look for NX300 cameras as the 20 MP's from that camera are some of the finest on the market. BTW, here's an eBay link to the current NX300 cameras for sale (and there are still new ones on there:

Some very interesting compositions and subject matter, and great editing! I like how punchy and saturated they look without being overly processed or unnatural.

Very good photos and is one of my favorite subject. I am among the others who've upgraded into NX500, just to pair it with NX1, mostly for 4K. NX300 was my first Samsung camera and I'm looking to get one, in a decent price, as a gift for my daughter's first step in to photography. Well done Antonis.

Thank you all for your kind words. It is indeed a very nice camera that has served me well. Unfortunately the lack of an EVF and an affordable fast zoom lens is really what's pushing me to think about buying into another camera system.

Here are some more pics in case anyone else is interested.

There is a solution about them, both EVF and fast zoom lenses, named NX1 and the "S" compo zooms, but I think that you already know about it. The only way that discontinues the development of the NX system keeps everyone to envest in another system. That's a pity...

NX300 was indeed my first NX camera, and I do miss it, as I believe it a stellar performer, very well built (very sturdy on the hand) and in my opinion, the best of the Modern Retro NX approach.

As you may have noticed, I propose this camera a lot, as I believe it is one of the best value for money offers on ebay currently, best NX value for money for sure, as you can find good ones for as low as 150$.

Fast zoom lenses aren't cheap on any mirrorless system, or they are not at all.

Sony/Canon/Nikon (duh!) have no fast 16-50, m4/3 have - ain't cheap and ain't as fast as 2f in APS-C - they are 2.8f on a much smaller sensor, Fuji's one have no IS and it is an old design (they have to bring something better here) and still is very expensive, there are 16-50S zoom going for really cheap from time to time.

This lens is keeping me firmly on the system (and ergonomics, menu system, small details, battery life, exactly the lenses I want, and a few others).
