HDMI connection

When connecting the body to an external monitor via the HDMI connection, does the monitor need to be a "TV" as stated in the owners manual:

"You can play back movies and still photos on a TV set."

Or can the monitor be a PC screen with an HDMI connection?

The only difference between a TV and a monitor is that a TV has a tuner and speakers (some monitors have speakers, but that is rare). So, you can watch the HDMI signal on any device with an HDMI input - a monitor, a TV, or a projector, for example.
