Should I sell my Panasonic 14 2.5 lens?

Hi I have an EM5 mark 2 with the following lenses: 14mm 2.5, 20mm 1.7 and 45mm 1.8. I have just bought the 14-150 and am wondering whether to sell my 14mm. The reason for this is I mainly use this for landscapes when out walking. Now that I have the zoom lens that's going to be the one I use whilst hiking. I will use the 20mm and 45mm for indoor and night shots but I am not sure I can see when I would use the 14mm. Would I be silly to sell?

would appreciate any advice. Thank you.

I sold mine.

I wasn't using it. My default lens is the 12-35, and my 20mm and 25mm primes get a reasonable amount of use. Not that one though, not much faster than the 12-35, so I sold it. I also have the 7-14 for when I want to focus on wide-angle shots. The 7-14 and 12-35 are a nice combo.

I gave mine to my nephew, but missed it afterward, so I've ordered a new one from Panasonic. Been backordered for over a month FWIW. If you get rid of it, it might not be readily replaceable. Panasonic may be ramping down production of this lens now that the 15 is out.

I think you should set it aside for a bit and see if the zoom covers your needs. I found, for me, I miss the pancake go anywhere aspect of the lens.

No one can tell you what you should do, but I love that little marvel. One of the original pancake lenses that put µ4/3 on the map. I like using it along with the 20/1.7 on the GX85. I wouldn't sell mine.

The 14/2.5 was my 1st m43 prime lens and I have had it for more than 2 yrs now. I use it mainly with my GM1 making that combo the smallest m43 system. I also pair it with a 0.76x wide converter when I need a 10.6mm/f2.5 UWA (useable for indoors too).

Eventhough I have a 15/1.7, I still keep the 14 because its color rendition is different (in a good way) compared to the 15 (or 25 or 45 or 75).

As mentioned earlier, if I want the smallest m43 system, nothing come close to a GM1 + 14.

My favorite lens for zone focusing . Focus ring is not smooth,

but it's good because you can't push him accidentally.

Put reset lens off in manu, set distance and shoot.

14mm lens don't have moving part , like 17mm 2.8 oly... . Big adventage for me.

I wouldn't sell mine!

I sold mine, but that's only because I have the 12mm f2 Oly which I use more.  If I didn't have the 12mm, I would have kept the 14mm.

Personally, I would hold on to it for a few months before you sell it.  If you find you have not used it at all, absolutely sell it.  If you find that you like using it for, say, street shooting, where it makes the camera really inconspicuous, then you should definitely keep it.  Nice little lens, BTW.

Unless you're really short on cash, I think the suggestion of keeping it a while to see if you use it is wise. There are times I really value the small size and light weight. If you find you're not using and not missing it, then sell it. Not a new lens or an especially expensive lens so I can't imagine that prices in the used market would change very much in the next month or two.

Thank you everyone for your advice. I will keep hold of it for a couple of months and see how often I use it before I consider selling. Thank you!

I still have mine

Even though I hardly ever use it anymore.

I suppose it is just too good a lens, that matches up wonderfully with my tiny GM1, and it wouldn't really sell for very much. So I just keep it for the times I want to go light, small and "somewhat fast."

My "small travel kit." The camera and all three lenses weighs around a pound together.

I use this lens alot. Especially when I'm travelling light. It really gets a lot of use from me.

City breaks, hiking, so versatile.

I have bought and given to young photographers two of these lenses. I went out and bought a brand new one. The 14 mm 2.5 is a very rich and sharp lens. I use it on a GX9 all the time along with a 42.5 f1.7. I added a 30 mm 2.8 Lumix and a 60 mm 2.8 Olympus. I find this setup to not be threatening to locals and the police.  The little 14 mm yields pleasing results that easily make good 13-19 prints on my Canon printer. I make photographs like I have for 60 years. I have the ability to make quick friends. So I am more of a Newspaper style image maker and this lens works with the built in flash or a small two cell Godex flash.  I have a 15 mm 1.7 Leica and this lens is best on a G9. Do not sell it you will just go get another.

The 14-150 is 523g, the 14 is 55g.

A factor 10x weight difference may be a good reason to keep it. You may soon wear tired of the heavy zoom, and just go out with 3 primes, 2 in your pocket. Besides, the 14 is not an expensive lens you have to worry about money being tied up or depreciation.
