Intervalometer using Arduino?

This YouTube video shows the successful creation of a remote shutter cable on a Canon EOS M utilizing Tragic Lantern and the app TriggerTrap on an Android phone.

Has anyone investigated the creation of an intervalometer for the Canon EOS Ms utilizing Tragic Lantern and an Arduino. I know nothing at all about Arduino but I do know that they are programmable, I just don't know to what extent. I'm not a programmer so I don't know if this is possible, I'm just spitballing the idea.

Re: Intervalometer using Arduino?

This is the method I would use: https://learn.adafruit.com/ir-sensor/making-an-intervalometer . I haven't done it yet, I have other Arduino projects ahead of it in line.

For learning about Arduino there are hundreds of websites. Adafruit is good:https://learn.adafruit.com/lesson-0-getting-started .

Wikipedia has some info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arduino

A book I liked: https://www.amazon.com/Make-Action-Movement-Arduino-Raspberry/dp/1457187795/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1488203571&sr=1-1&keywords=make+action

But there are many other resources, books, blogs, etc. This should give you a start.

Good luck with it.

Re: Intervalometer using Arduino?

LOL!

Well, I wasn't actually looking to add to my "todo" list because my SO believes that's her job. But I'll pencil it in and if I get around to collecting the hardware, software and knowledge and experience of programming I'll post my results.

In the mean time, please feel free to take a swing at it if the interest strikes anyone.

Re: Intervalometer using Arduino?

If you are looking for a phone based remote then the IOS app Cascable does intervalometer and long exposures with the M2,M3,M10 and M5.

Obviously only any good if you have an iPhone or iPad.

Re: Intervalometer using Arduino?

On EOS M3 and EOS M10 you can use CHDK for intervalometer...
