When you nail focus at f/1.2 :-D

I don't find I have any consistency or precision issues when shooting the 85/1.2L II at any aperture - but it did need +3 AFMA on my 5Ds.

I was in the middle of cooking dinner and had a few minutes in between tasks so I grabbed the dog and the camera for a quick shot.

Because DPR mangles the image quality of uploaded images, I'll post a small version below and then the full size version is here (clickable link to the file on my Google Drive account)

The shot itself was level but I had to rotate it due to the grade in my yard - that was the only "crop" to the image.

Canon EF 85mm F1.2L II USM Canon EOS 5DS

Oi! I know that smart-looking dog! If I am not severely mistaken, you had posted these or similar photos some months back. I love that dog as much as the sharp focus!

Yeah, she's my test subject. I take pictures of her all the time just for fun, and also to test new gear. She just turned 8 last month and is FINALLY starting to calm down a little within the last year or two. Huskies are like no other dogs when they're puppies. Their energy is OFF THE CHARTS. Once they hit 3, then they act like and have the energy of other breeds do when they're puppies. When they hit 6-7, they act like other dogs do at age 3. It's pretty crazy! But she is SUCH a good girl! VERY obedient

An example of her energy... When she was 3 (before we moved to a new city), I'd take her on a 3 mile bike ride to the dog park. I'd ride my bike and she'd run beside me on a leash. She'd pull me much of the way there. Once we arrived, she'd run around like a crazed lunatic, LITERALLY jumping over other dogs for a solid half-hour. Then she'd play for another half-hour or so. Then, I'd ride my bike 3 miles back home with her running beside me. She'd usually stop running around the time we arrived at the entrance to my neighborhood. Not so much because she was tired, but because she didn't want to stop playing. If I kept going past my neighborhood to surprise her, she'd pick up the pace again and start running. Absolutely INSANE!!! Oh... and I lived in Orlando, FL at the time where even when it's cold, it's still warm! And when it's hot, IT'S HOT! ...and she's a HUSKY!?!? A snow dog!?! lol As long as she had water, she was good to go.

One of my sisters has had two huskies, beautiful and as you said, very obedient dogs, and strength and power, WOW!

Well... Obedient as long as you don't let them off-leash! LOL If you do, and you have a runner... Good luck!

Fortunately, mine listens well to me - most of the time. I clearly established myself as the alpha when she was a puppy and it's paid off. She will still run to people and other dogs if off-leash, but she won't run away. We don't give her the opportunity though.
