Re: samples of gx85 and 12-35 f2.8

That's just what I did, bought a used E-M10 to try the Olympus "flavoring". That led to a series of romances with six other Olympus bodies. Finally have it down to just 3 bodies......but, you never know when the eye might get to roving again.

i was tempted by the more SLR like looking Olympus' but one of my travel needs/wants is shooting in stadiums for sports or concerts and the GX85 looks more like a p+s that i think it'll get in with no problems with a pancake lens (and maybe the 40-150) in pocket.

cheers

Compare and contrast size HERE . Doesn't seem like a big difference. You could probably buy both, try out and sell off your second favorite.

Bought the Olympus.

I think my kit is complete.

GX85

oly 9-18 ultra wide angle

pany 12-35 f.28 quality walk-about (as good as it is might switch to a 12-32 kit for size weight)

oly 40-150 telephoto

pan 20 f1.7 low light

We'll see it goes on my trip next week. I could see cutting the kit down even more and replacing the middle 2 with a 14-140

cheers

careful with the oly 40-150 and gx85.  when i bought the oly, it had intermittent issues with the gx85. it worked well for a while, then would not take pictures.  some other person reported the same issue at amazon.

not sure if that's been resolved with any of the new firmware updates.

otherwise, optically, pretty good

Re: gx85 and 9-18 replaces D700 and 17-35 as travel set-up

the 9-18 has been the only lens on the camera so far.
