700d or 750d or wait for 800d?

Hi,

I started photographing with my dad's old 350d (I know, it's ancient), and kinda of tried everything you can do with it, but I simply suffer when I have to use ISO 400 or more, and so on. So I decided to buy a new body, (and I'll go with canon cause I have 3 lenses) and saw a great price for the 700d on Amazon (450€ body only). But then I found out how much better the 750d is, and it's a nice deal as well. After that I realized that it's almost time for new models, so my question is, should I wait for the cp+ or even further? Because if they release the 800d, I could get it for the 750's current price, or get the 750 on sale.

Thanks

Rebels typically are announced no later than June.

Re: 700d or 750d or wait for 800d?

Im not really sure that the price of 750D will drop so quickly after 800D

and yes, 750D has a very capable sensor which will be a gigantic leap forward after 350D. expect ISO 3200 to look like ISO 400 on 350D, but wit visibly more detail

Plus it'll feel so much more responsive, and you'll have the addition of Live View (not to mention video!) on that big beautiful screen.

Re: 700d or 750d or wait for 800d?

Based on the dxomark scores the 750d is not so much over the 700d on ISO performances. Also an ipothetic 800D should have a sensor in the ballpark of the 80D and again there is only an half stop gap between the 700D and the 80D sensor.

This if your only care about ISO noise. There are obviously other advantages: the resolution, 2 stop gap in the Dynamic Range (between 700D and 80D), AF system and so on...

If you wait for the next big upgrad you may end up waiting for ever. Just buy when there is a real need and buy someting that fit that need.

As a ground noise report consider that there is a rumor of a change in the APSC camera linup, with a new 77D taking its place between the 80D and the 750D instead of an 800D. This shift of paradigm may result in a extention of the life of the 750D.

An answer to a question you did not ask

If the lenses you have are as old as your camera, buy new lenses too.

And you are better off with a new camera you own and you can use than with a new camera still at the factory being  made.

A couple of new aps-c camera will be announced fairly soon. This will probably lead to the current cameras to drop in price a tiny bit, so if you're not in a rush you could wait and see which camera is the best for your needs.

Or the T6i gets killed in favor of the SL2 which is entirely possible

T7i should be presented this week, bases on latest rumore. Sl2, if ever, may be again a stripped Version of the t6i, a good upgrade in My opinion, but expect the t6i stock to run out before the annuncement... But many day SL2 Will never be...

No. T6i will be available long after its replacement is announced. T5i still is in stores!

My Point was that sl2 did not kill T7i....

Ok, t5i still in store, but still in production? We still can buy many things that are not in production anymore...

No but this was in your response to you saying T6i would be gone before its replacement announced!
