I'm trying to understand more about my digital SLR 1000d one of the of the thing i want to know is is it a full frame camera as a fun frame camera is recommended for astrophotography and in particular star trails, I'm still a beginner in photography, if this camera is not a full frame can u recommend a canon DSLR as i am on a budget.

It is not a FF (Full Frame) camera. When you're on a budget I would advise against putting your money on FF.

All in my humble opinion of course!
If I seem to talk nonsense or you can't understand me, it's probably my English

Your sensor is an APS-c size. The cheapest Canon FF sensor camera would be the Canon 6D. You could buy used. The Canon 5D mark II or III are also smaller sized full frame cameras. I had the original Canon 5D. Now I use Sony A7, one of the least expensive, for full frame but I still use Canon for APS-c sometimes called a crop sensor. I've included an illustration of various sensor sizes used in most cameras today. Different size sensors, each has their own benefits and disadvantages. I have owned or own cameras with all of these sensor sizes.

Full frame cameras use the biggest and heaviest lenses and are very expensive.
