Olympus 40-150 f2.8 Pro lens, slight knocking noise?

I've just taken delivery of an Olympus 40-150 f2.8 Pro lens (bought used off eBay). The lens looks in A1 condition, no knocks or marks, but there is a slight knocking sound when I turn the lens over. Once fitted to a camera and powered up, the knocking sound is gone, and the lens seems to be operating perfectly.

Is this normal? I know the lens has no IS but does it have some floating elements inside that fix in place when powered up?

Right, it's characteristic of the voice-coil style focus motor when at rest. 12-40 is similar.

Enjoy the 40-150--great lens.

Thanks guys that's made me feel better. I also have the 12-40 and had no idea it made the same noise until you pointed it out.
