NX3000 and 16mm f2.4

Goodmorning everyone. I have a Samsung NX3000 with 16-50mm and 30mm f2. The shot that I get are satisfactory. With the 30mm f2 I am very well but for indoor is limited as an opening. I had thought about taking also 16mm f2.4 so that I can have a wider angle. The opening to 16mm I can get even with the 16-50mm although it is less bright. With the 16mm would have a slight NX3000 as with 30mm. Considering that Samsung no longer produces digital cameras is better that I wait and in the future to buy another digital compact? Thank you

There are some good offers for the 16mm on ebay. I do have the 3000 and it is an excellent compact with a great 20mgpxl sensor, it will be difficult to find a cheaper substitute (together with the 30mm pancake in the near future).

The new Canon M5 is a good alternative(much better AF too, plus touch screen) with the excellent 22mm pancake, but all together will be around 1500$/€…

My main point, if you are happy with 3000, keep it, and add a 16mm if you find one in good price, I do not have it, because I am covered with other lenses. You could be fine with the pz too..

If you need something more, sell the 3000, and with the same money buy a NX300 used, almost as good as the M5 (Canon still has better AF, but the margin is smaller) and it will be sufficient for a lot more years

Re: NX3000 and 16mm f2.4

I find my 16mm f/2.4 is better at that focal length than my 16-50pz; both in resolution across the frame and focus speed and accuracy. I have used the 16mm prime a lot on the NXx00 cameras I own/have owned. I really enjoy the compact form. Now, it is not in the same league as the 30mm prime, but that lens sets a pretty high standard.

If you can find one at a good price I would say go for it.
