NX1 and "S" lenses Software Updates

Regarding some vignetting and what does the lens "software" do exactly? [in-camera] ...

I'm wondering if it is the Samsung lens firmware that is applying (mal-correcting) images to where there is noticeable vignetting in all pics shot?  (I shoot a lot at 50mm and a lot at 35mm)

More specifically, I shoot RAW with NX1 (last firmware release), and use the 15-50 "S" lens with most current firmware update. I convert all SRW images to DNG with Samsung DNG Converter. I then bring these into Lightroom CC. Lightroom CC indicates that a built-in update has been applied [in the Lens Correction section].

All images shot at 50 mm (max zoom) with the 16-50 S show mild vignetting in images where it can be easily seen (blue skies). I have not worked with my 50-150 S lens to know it there are similar issues there.

The vignetting can easily be corrected in Lightroom. I'm using the original lens hood, and no screw-on lens filters

And it seems that the vignetting at lower zooms might be only slightly less, but on maximum zoom images, it is more easily seen, it seems.

Any ideas why this may be occurring? I only recently applied the last lens updates to my two "S" lenses and never noticed this vignetting issue prior to this last update. Is it just me?

What exactly does the lens software do [in-camera]? Does the firmware somehow do things that would cause vignetting? Or is it strictly for reduction of lens-induced chromatic aberration? I really enjoy the camera as a "carry around everywhere" rig and it's a shame Samsung dropped the line.

Thanks

Are you using the right lens hood? The hoods for the two S lens are different. If you have the 50-150mm hood attached you might well get viginetting.

I don't see any viginetting on either my 15-50 or my 50-150 lens.

Yes  I'm using the original hood  I'm just wondering if it might be the srw to dng conversion that is introducing this  vignetting.  Later I'll compare original srw to converted dng and see if there is a difference
