Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D

On my Konica Minolta Maxxun 7D camera. It takes great pictures inside my house, with or without flash but as soon as I step outside in bright light it will not take pictures. Why?

Re: Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D

That can be the case if you have "AF/Shutter release priority set up" set to AF, and for some reason you have also manual focus active.

In that case the shutter does not work until you manualy adjust the focus, try outdoor on a subject as close as your usual indoor subjects.

See page 94 of the English instruction manual and let us know. Michel.

Outside in bright light are you getting a totally white photo?

Does it happen with any lens?

If it happens only with one lens then I suspect the aperture is stuck wide open. If it happens to any lens then maybe your 7D is not functioning properly and is not moving the aperture of the lenses.

Even wide open outside you can get an image, set the camera to a fast shutter speed say 1/2000 or 1/4000 and outside you should get a picture.

Good luck.

If you camera set to full auto (Green P in top dial)?  If not try that setting.  If you are using the programmable modes you could have the ISO set to high or the shutter speed set to slow.

Yes. Check that, as it's something I dealt with several times, especially since many of us are shooting with old legacy glass.

Just a Maxxum, an Alpha, and crossed fingers.
