Hi, you don't say, which lenses your friend has. He probably must have at least one.

24-105 lens range will work, basically, but this range is optimal for bigger "full frame" cameras , the range of 18-75, 18-135 fits better for the APS-C sensor size of Canon T5.

(The focal length times 1,6 crop factor for APS-C sensor. Pls google for details)

Thank you. I didn't know it's APS-C....😟..... so I think 18-75 will work. But He has 18-55.

I know he wants to use it for some mid size products...size 11" x 13" or so....,!?

There are dozens of different lenses to choose from.  The best thing to do, may be to look at the reviews on websites like SLRGear.  There you will get a chance to look at the Sigma and Tamron lenses that would fit on something like the Canon T5 camera.
