An excellent performer!

This lens is optically excellent. I've removed 1/2 star since its AF speed is not fast and in some cases it just gives up. I end up using manual-focus half the time for macro work. I especially like the push-pull auto-manual switch on the lens barrel. Nice touch for a macro lens.

Lens is high on my wishlist. How well does it perform on APS-C sensor camera like A6000/A6300?

I agree. I also use MF a lot for macros and the push-pull AF/MF feature is a very easy to use, but I've not noticed it giving up on AF unless I was too close to the subject.

At times I'll use a Sigma AML72-01 closeup lens with the 90 Macro to get even closer.

I use it on an A6300 and it works great!  Here are two recent examples.

wrong use of autofocus

In my opinion, this is a wrong use of autofocus. For macro, you use the focus to set the MAGNIFICATION RATIO of the lens, and you then focus by changing the distance of camera/lens to your object (ideally using a tripod).

At least, that's how I have learned it... Feel free to re-add that half star to this spectacular lens

Fully agree! Its one of my favorite lens. - Great for portrait too! - “Lock-on AF Flexible Spot” works quite well for macro. - Great shots, thanks for share!
