Canon color rendition - constant or changing from model to model?

Dear Canonisti,

I am currently having a hefty love affair with Olympus' mirrorless M10.

Nevertheless, I feel that under many circumstances my Canon gear gave me at least as nice color rendition.

I mainly shot my 450D, 50D, and last 550D (T2i) in "standard" picture mode.

Now I wonder:

Will any modern Canon DSLR (or maybe even EOS-M) have more or less the same nice color rendition, or did things change over the years?

Actually from time to time I check image galleries, e.g. here at dpreview; but it is really hard to tell if Canon's color magic is still there.

Sorry, maybe not a very specific question. Just curious what hard-core Canon users with lots of different bodies think.

I've found that tone curves tend to change a bit from model to model.  One soon realizes that you cannot simply stick with the same workflow as you shift from model to model.

OTOH the Canon color is still there IMHO.  Just love it.

Check out some (other people's) pics from these galleries...

Happy shooting!

Re: Canon color rendition - constant or changing from model to model?

When I switched from an Olympus E-500 and Olympus E-510 to a Canon T2i (550D) and Canon T3i (600D) camera I didn't notice that much difference in color. I even took some test photos initially to compare. Saying that, I thought the Olympus colors were great (as o-o-c JPEGs). I also thought the Canon colors were great (also as o-o-c JPEGs). I haven't noticed a lot of difference in the colors of the newer Canon Rebel pictures that have been posted.
